Fiberglass Pultruded Grating
Pultrusion technology is a manufacturing process which produces uniform cross-sectionally shaped glass-fiber reinforced polymer composite profiles.
These profiles are designed to compete with the strength properties of traditional metal grating structures, but offer the inherent environmental benefits that come with using fiberglass.
The fiberglass reinforced polymer matrix is ideal for corrosive environments and greatly reduces the maintenance required over the life-time of the grating.
Through an automated manufacturing process, pultrusion produces constant, cross-sectionally shaped profiles of glass fiber reinforced polymer composites.
This means it can compete with traditional metallic profiles such as steel and aluminum for strength and weight bearing loads, yet, unlike its metal counterparts.
Assembled with “I,” “T,” and “HL” shaped pultruded bearing bars and interlocked with pultruded solid rods or tubes, our pultruded grating provides lasting performance and structural integrity in either a two- or three-part interlock system.
Available in a range of shapes, thicknesses, cross-bar assemblies, and surfaces, our pultruded grating can carry a higher load and withstand greater impact than molded grating. All our molded fiberglass grating is ISO 9001:2000 Certified and meets the highest international standards.

Pultruded Grating Details
At about one-fourth the weight of steel, Fastec International’s pultruded fiberglass grating can easily be lifted and moved by hand, making it easy to install on-site, as well as less expensive to ship. Once on-site, our pultruded FRP grating can be cut with commercial power tools and installed without the heavy equipment required to move steel or other traditional building materials. Please see our Assembly page for more information.

The Benefits of Pultruded FRP Grating:
Extremely High Loaded Strength
Our pultrusion process produces continuous lengths of reinforced polymer structural shapes with constant cross-sections, and our glass fiber rovings, mats, and veils provide greater tensile strength as well as improved surface finishing.
Impact Resistant
Unlike metallic grating, which will deform and need replacement, our pultruded FRP grating allows for repeated deflections without any permanent damage.
Anti-Corrosion, Attractive, & Low Maintenance
Inherent properties in our pultruded grating, like corrosion/rust resistance from high resin content, and UV resistance means a longer lifespan for your applications.
Lightweight & Easy to Install
At about one-fourth the weight of steel, our pultruded grating can easily be lifted and moved by hand, making it easy to install on-site.
Non-Conductive & Non-Sparking
Perfectly suited for electrically hazardous locations or conditions, our pultruded grating has inherent insulating properties that reduce the risk of electrical shock. It is also well-suited for many applications where sparks can trigger explosion or fire due to combustible gases build-up.
Anti-Fire
All of our resin systems have a Class 1 flame spread rating of 25 or less per ASTM E84.
Anti-Slip Surface
With multiple surfacing options, our pultruded grating can offer superior protection and maximum slip resistance designed specifically for your application.
Chemical & UV Resistant
Our polymer reinforced matrix can be formulated to meet all your demanding chemical and environmental conditions.
